Felony Court Clerks act as secretaries to the Judge while in court. The Court Clerks primary job is to keep accurate court notes and prepare documentation of court ordered rulings. Computer generated court notes, trial forms, judgment, sentences, bench warrants and county jail commitment are a few of the documents prepared by the clerks.

During a trial it is the Clerk's job to administer oaths to the jury panel and witnesses, take care, custody and control of trial evidence, and read the verdicts. Court clerks prepare all court dockets for the use of judges, state attorney, public defenders, sheriff, court security, and jail.

The case/defendant disposition information provided and documented by the Court Clerks are used by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (F.D.L.E.), the Federal Criminal and Florida Criminal Information Center (FCIC/NCIC), local and state court administration, and the judges for record and state funding information.

Office and Data Entry Clerks:
Office and Data Entry Clerks process all documents and orders received in the office, assist Court Clerks and File Clerks when needed, and answer phone inquires from the public and other agencies. They also prepare paper work and clerk for First Appearance.

File Clerks:
File Clerks keep the felony court files up to date with the current paper work. They also pull files for court clerks from court dockets, computer track all files, assist the public and other agencies with information needed from files, and process the daily mail.

The Felony Filings Division is responsible for filing all Felony cases and paperwork, assisting the public with information, and performing Record Searches. In addition, the department Expunges and Seals cases, accepts payments to satisfy liens, payments for court costs and bond estreatures, prepares payment sheets for payment of certain fees. Felony Filings also processes Criminal Appeals.

Record Clerks:  
Duties: Record Clerks process all arrests, issue warrants, issue capiases, process informations, no informations, nolle prosequies, and dismissals. They scan, redact, and seal confidential documents. They also set court dates for arraignment. They post felony payments, liens, lien satisfactions, process vendor and special public defender fee payments.
Data Entry Operators:  
Duties: Data Entry Operators process felony incoming mail, computer input work, seal all confidential documents in court files, and update microfilm.
Office Assistant:  
Duties: The Office Assistant performs record searches, FDLE searches, issues subpoenas, assists the public and other agencies, and responds to inquiries.
Record Clerk/Appeals:  
Duties: The Appeals Record Clerk processes all criminal appeals to the 4th DCA from its commencement to the 4th DCA's issuing of its Mandate and Opinion. Some duties include scheduling due dates, processing appeal bonds, preparing records, submitting statements for payment of appeal, and assisting the public and other agencies regarding appeals.
